The report combines findings from The Blackbaud Index of Online Giving with additional multi-year giving data to provide the most comprehensive analysis of online giving trends in the nonprofit sector. The Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 had no significant effect on the overall online giving trends.

Target Analytics , a Blackbaud company, announced last week the latest Index of National Fundraising Performance for the second quarter of 2009. The index compares trends in key fundraising indicators from 77 organizations, including over 36 million donors and more than 68 million gifts totaling almost $2 billion in revenue.

The Index looks at trends on a rolling three-month basis to smooth out seasonal or episodic spikes in the data and is the largest and most timely study being done in the industry. . The Index shows that online giving remained positive during most of 2009 and the trends for 2010 have been very encouraging. Multichannel is Magic.
