A few weeks ago, I presented a workshop at the Bay Area Video Coalition Nonprofit Institution. You moderate comments or leave it open. I'm not referring to comment spam , either. That's a different issue and you definitely need to use a spam filter. What does your comment moderation policy look like?

I often tell folks that making a practice of self-editing is a great way to level up : finish your draft (email appeal, social media post, video script, or whatever else), walk away from it for a minute, and then go back and make changes as an editor would. They just finished a YouTube video contest. Did you find that people who had been to the exhibition were commenting on the Flickr page? They would comment on the photos we'd taken and add notes with links to their own profiles. Spam, obscenity--they just aren't an issue at all. A place that makes it all pretty darn cool.
