The trainer needs to understand the database, present technical concepts clearly and without jargon, teach at the students' level, and be incredibly patient. If you're training a lot of people, try to train in a classroom setting so everyone hears the same thing. Test the computers and software in the classroom before every training.

You are in the business every day of figuring out how to have people engage, have fun, and build skills – change their behaviors through games. That’s teaching. In countries with high populations of Ukrainian refugees, CARE launched classrooms with Ukrainian-speaking teachers, so children can have a sense of normalcy and so mothers, grandmothers, and relatives receive a needed break from the children.

This past week they opened up the campus to nonprofits and I was lucky enough to be part of the faculty to teach a workshop. The photo was my classroom. They also teach yoga and meditation classes in this room.

We often think of our teachers as being less than classroom teachers and our gallery staff as “just” teaching little kids. Teaching is a core. In a classroom setting, this is most clearly present in projects in which group work is assigned. Those days are now extraordinarily a thing of the past.
