For years, I've been fascinated and a bit perplexed by the Elsewhere Collaborative , a thrift store turned artists' studio/living museum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Over the past seven years, this exploration has been undertaken by a staff of artists and more than 35 creators each year participating in our residency program.

The Walker is also a place where everyone is committed to supporting artists and new work, so every time we bring in an artist, staff are enthusiastic about the idea of coming together to create something. You know, the hours that you're open--they're not very accessible for people who work." He's right. They aren't. We're open Tuesday-Sunday, 11am-5pm. The Siskind Center gives students and the public the opportunity to pore over the photography in the Museum's large collection of works on paper. While the Nature Lab does admit the general public, the majority of users are RISD students and the place is nearly always packed. Evening events entice with the promise of music and food.
