So the Community Science Workshop model is to put a drop-in, FREE community science center in a place that is walkable to kids'' lives and schools. At the tiny science center, I got to do everything from leading programs to building exhibits to managing volunteers to cleaning snot off of plexiglass. I also learned that the best money in museums for someone who's starting out is in art modeling. I survived the first half of 2003 financially on art modeling and poetry gigs.

How many educators scan program evaluations and cast off the suggestions for improvement as aberrant grumps who "just didn't get it?" The IdeaExchange and related programs use a Digg -like interface to allow users to promote preferred suggestions. and that differentiates these questions from throw-away "What do you thinks?"
