Thanks Jordan S for working with us on this! I mentioned that I was able to track only the last 1500; he replied and said that their tool actually archives all hashtagged tweets, which he was able to send me as a data file, which is how I got the 1874 total. And there was another bonus we found later, see the twitter section.
