While board members are obviously valuable and insightful, that venerability should be used to govern and not to guide staff or their roles.

One CEO of a local behavioral health and human service organization found value in program evaluation measures in his organization where there was no prior initiative to evaluate programs.

Notably, about 32% of nonprofit funding comes from government contracts and grants. The effects of federal policy often trickle down to the state and local levels. A missed opportunity.
