Announcing… 31 New Favorite Nonprofits for 2013!

Nonprofit Tech for Good

Each January Nonprofit Tech 2.0 selects 31 new “ Favorite Nonprofits ” to be featured in the Nonprofit Tech 2.0 banner. Nonprofits in previous years were chosen primarily because they excelled at social media. This year, however, the selection process was a bit more personal. Yes… the majority of this year’s nonprofits have also implemented good-to-exceptional social media campaigns, but they are also nonprofits whose missions I care about and feel a personal connection to.

President’s Update: Fall 2013

Beneblog: Technology Meets Society

In all seriousness, 2013 has been an incredibly busy and productive year for us. You may already know that I plan in earnest to provide my personal President’s Updates as quarterly informal reports, but that all too often I fall behind on this well-intended schedule—as is the case with the update you’re reading now! Don’t get me wrong: I love writing my updates.

ATTN Nonprofits: New YouTube Channels Coming Early March 2013

Nonprofit Tech for Good

YouTube has begun rolling out a new YouTube Channel design entitled One Channel to a very small small group of YouTube users. A sitewide roll out is expected in early March. The new design offers much less customization, but enables more efficient browsing of your videos and the channels that you are subscribed to, and is more tailored for smartphone and tablet video watching. To prepare in advance for the new YouTube Channels, nonprofits will need to design a new banner.

Five Reasons Why Your Nonprofit Should Prioritize the Mobile Web in 2013

Nonprofit Tech for Good

Yesterday’s free webinar entitled Five Reasons Why Your Nonprofit Should Prioritize the Mobile Web in 2013 was attended by 433 nonprofit professionals. By late 2013 or early 2014 , the Mobile Web will surpass desktop. To some, that may sound like a good turnout, but my free webinars usually hit the maximum of 1,000 attendees, so 433 was low – not surprising, however. In general, its been very difficult to get nonprofits to prioritize the Mobile Web.
