Over the past year, I've noticed a strange trend in the calls I receive about upcoming participatory museum projects: the majority of them are being planned for teen audiences. Why are teens over-represented in participatory projects? The other three are cultural, and I'm not sure how accurate they are.

The busiest day in both 2011 and 2012 is our longtime community program, Free First Friday. Of the 37,361 visitors who attended, 63% came for a community program/event. You can see here that 86% of our growth in attendance from 2011 to 2012 is due to community programs. were shamelessly resourceful.

Earlier this fall, I read this headline: "Stanford study: Participation in a cultural activity may reduce prejudice." When the music video was focused on Mexican culture, the researchers found that the white and Asian participants demonstrated a decrease in prejudice against Latinos, both immediately after the activity and six months later.
