Musical Instrument Museum. I grew up in a musical family, was fortunate enough to attend schools with excellent arts programs, majored in music in college, and still perform frequently today. I have had such a positive experience with music that I have been driven to share its joys with as many people as possible.

Beck''s project is unusual because he deliberately resurrected a mostly-defunct participatory platform: sheet music for popular songs. Sheet music is a beautiful analogy for this.

Before the MAH exhibition, those historic surfboards rested deep in the collection storage of the Bishop Museum in Hawaii. Their music was relevant to the crowd. They made magic at the MAH.
