New records for sales of the digital good seem to be reached each week with an upcoming sale of NFT artist Beeple’s ‘Everydays’ compilation went for $69 million in March, 2021 (source: The Verge ). Some NFTs are open for a period of time and others have a finite amount at an auction or fixed price.

The man is artist Rocky Lewycky , whose work is part of a group show of visual artists who have won a prestigious regional fellowship. They present masterpieces by white male artists and innovations by white male scientists. I never saw comparable adjectives used in the European art labels at the museum.

Two recent events have got me thinking about pranks and unauthorized activities in museums. Improv Everywhere staged an event at the Metropolitan Museum in which an actor posing as King Philip IV of Spain signed autographs in front of his portrait, as painted by Diego Velazquez in the 1620s. I feel like it's more complicated than that.

A few years and a few hundred open mics into that experience, it became obvious that some venues fostered amazing poetry communities, others, not so much. One of my favorite open mics was at the Cantab in Cambridge, MA. Compare that with any number of lousy open mics. The process is incredibly open and equal.

I've long admired this museum for its all-encompassing commitment to community co-creation , and the visit was a kind of pilgrimage to their new site (opened in 2008).
