Does the Most Powerful Work Live Onstage or Behind the Scenes?

Relative to other museums, I think we spend less time producing an "onstage" experience and more time collaborating with community organizations behind the scenes to empower them to produce. Our museum is growing, and I'm always weighing different ways to expand our impact. I feel great about this approach.

Which made my mind go to a far more irreverent destination: Mad Libs. They're owned by the museum. Pick a plural noun.

Kickstarter: Funding Creativity in a New (Old) Way

For the most part, Kickstarter projects are managed by young, creative individuals with small projects (and smallish funding goals) in mind. But then I started finding more humble projects related to broader issues, and I began to see Kickstarter as a potentially fascinating space for museums and cultural institutions.
