There were also children's t-shirts contributed, so I distributed these to the kids in the orphanage and some of the extra t-shirts to the college students being sponsored by the Sharing Foundation. The college students enjoyed the t-shirts too even though they were not aware of the companies.

Ramakrishna Mission Students Home in India provides a home and education to orphaned boys from rural Tamil Nadu state in South India. This NGO runs a primary day school, a residential high school, and a residential polytechnic college. They’re a great example of an NGO that really knows their IT. Want to share.

To my delight, the Akshay Pratishthan school had a focus on teaching students with disabilities: roughly half the students had disabilities and were mainstreamed with students without disabilities. This school is run by an NGO (a nonprofit) and provides free education to children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our writing workshops focus on autobiographical writing and storytelling, and we actually do a lot of storytelling performance and theater with the students. It's really neat because the students work on one autobiographical story for two weeks, and at the end they have one complete story that they can call their very own.
