It’s conference week! Dreamforce and Convio Summit

There are only 3 conferences I make a point of going to each year if I can: Convio Summit , Salesforce Dreamforce and NTEN NTC. Wouldn’t you know that this year, Convio Summit and Dreamforce were the same week? Not to say that the Convio conference isn’t excellent. Originally, I was only going to go to Dreamforce.

Blackbaud Buys their Rival Convio: Now What?

The nonprofit community was stunned yesterday when Blackbaud purchased long time rival Convio. According to Blackbaud President Marc Chardon, “Combining Convio and Blackbaud is expected to help create one of the largest SaaS vendors with over $440 million in trailing twelve months pro forma revenue.”

Kudos to Vinay Bhagat of Convio for winning the 2012 Care2 Impact Prize for his outstanding impact in online advocacy and fundraising. O'Brien praised Bhagat for founding the influential and successful software platform, Convio, which helped more than 1600 nonprofits to raise $1.3 billion in 2011 alone.
