I love that the training activities go beyond the traditional webinars and workshops, and incorporate mentoring and on the job learning activities. A more formalized approach is far more effective. Trained mentors who can support on the job learning. Agreed upon plan. Structured, but flexible schedule and plan. Evaluation.

This enables great conversations: the serendipity effect is huge. Conversation Two I had agreed to act as a mentor to a Global Changemaker, in this case Mousa Mousawy, an Iraqi teenager now living in Jordan. I had no idea when I agreed to the mentor gig that there would be something like this I actually know something (a lot) about.

When you use one of these, focus on using keywords or key phrases that include the type of thing or program you’re wanting to fund (art, horses, mentoring programs, etc.) and a location where the money will be used.

It’s more fun – and it’s more effective. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others, and teaching – or mentoring – gives me a sense of accomplishment. I find the more I do this, and the more generous I am, the more happy I feel. It’s about approaching work from a place of sharing and abundance rather than self-absorption and scarcity.
