A national election is the ultimate participatory project. When you are part of a cause you believe in, you get incredibly invested.

There are many participatory experiences that appeal primarily to adults, and they are designed distinctly for adults. But I don't think that theory holds up.

Museums and traditional institutions are not typically set up to manage participatory projects at such a high level of detail.
