The village school stops at the elementary level and if students want to continue in high school, they must travel into the Phnom Penh and pay tuitution, a luxury most villagers can't afford.

The students are the children of the poorest families of Roteang Village and who participate in the Sharing Foundation's farm project. Mon Channy is the only child of his widowed mom, who supports herself and her child through her work on the TSF farm. Channy, who is very small, probably due to early malnutrition, is proud to be going to school as his mother never did (see photo). In her dorm room, she had photos of our family and my letters to her on the wall. She spoke about how much our support makes a difference in her life. The money goes to the Sharing Foundation.
