And One Good Bumblebee is designing products to to sell for Nest , a nonprofit that supports women artists and artisans in the developing world by providing micro-credit loans to be used for the purchase of the supplies necessary to start or run their art or craft-based businesses.

It's not that I don't firmly believe in the power and potential of what technology has to offer, it's just that so often it's a red herring when we're designing experiences for our visitors. Give them something rewarding, some meaty bit of fun and engagement and concentrate on designing what that experience could and should be.

To make ends meet, artists would sometimes team up as a studio — helping each other come up with ideas, chipping in when someone was in danger of missing a deadline, teaching each other tips and tricks. These 22 panels are designed to “always work.” It’s been passed around, in one form or another, ever since.

But then, once I’d set up the site, it seemed silly NOT to share the info about it with others. Shortly after starting the poem-a-day project, I became more aware of the extent to which a vast majority of the internet is about this concept—exposing processes, opening up the innards.

But if not, why not experiment with new ways to design it into the space? Where do you display those ratings? Alongside the exhibits?

This exhibition is a big accomplishment for us because it incorporates multiple ways we push boundaries at the MAH: we co-designed it with 100+ community partners (C3) , including artists, foster youth, and youth advocates, with youth voices driving the project from big idea to install to programming.

For example, “Nazi science” came up several times as a “can’t”—but the Holocaust Museum’s Deadly Medicine exhibition was a successful project that didn’t bring the walls down.
