Pathfinder gave a presentation to a small group in Cambridge , while his audio (some of the time) was streamed into Second Life along with his Powerpoint Slides. I also turned off my audio. Also, we should ask people not to take photos or chat during the presentations as the sound of cameras snapping made the audio hard to hear.

For a related teen project , I was invited to teach roughly 200 middle- and high-school students about geocaching (a GPS-based scavenger hunt) so that they could send miniature sculpture pieces out into the world. The waypoints could be put into a file (.gpx It might be accompanied by a podcast, so it becomes a city-wide audio tour!

Fundamentally, the Arkenstone Reader allowed blind people to create their own personal ebook as a text file that could be read in something like Microsoft Word. The first was the ebook.

I mentioned that I was able to track only the last 1500; he replied and said that their tool actually archives all hashtagged tweets, which he was able to send me as a data file, which is how I got the 1874 total. We just sent it out, but it is really great to have people provide feedback in audio, text, or video form.

The eye images were posted to the site, and the incantations were layered over the top of each other in an ever-growing audio file. I’m hopeful that teachers in particular will pick up on this as a great activity for their students. We also hid teasers for the game on Smithsonian web sites and in articles about the game.
