Our goal in working with the Internet Archive on the Open Library would be to experiment with a Wikipedia-style “please donate if you can” model to offer a global solution for free to everybody. We share the goal of bringing more books to American adults, but the vast Open Library vision inspired us to go even further.

David zeroed in on two relevant data points to tell the story - the number of hours Americans spend watching TV in a year, and the total combined man hours needed to create all of wikipedia: 4. Provide Context. Users need a grounding point to understand your data. They need something to put into a perspective that they relate to intuitively.

You can also take a picture by winking your right eye. Wikipedia article on smartglasses. It has only been used by developers for six months, but is apparently taking off. Here are some of the things it currently does: It takes photos and videos by voice command and can upload them to the web. You can speak to send text messages.

I picture it like this: in the weeks before your big fundraising event, feature the fundraiser on your card. They focus on the tool rather than the thing the tool enables (taking pictures). It's hard to find a topic where the Wikipedia entry is not among the top 10! A developer-written helpfile may miss the point entirely.
