Image courtesy of Luke Tan What you are looking at is a raining tree in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum , created by Dutch-born artist Iepe B. This tree/sprite/installation is a perfect example of what is, in my mind, the optimal tension between awesome content creation and visitor involvement. I'm a content snob.

They're visually muddled, and even when you do get the information, job titles are often confusing at best; at my museum, the woman who maintains the artifacts is called the "Collections Manager." I want great visualizations so I can see which committees influence which bills and which senators are big players across the board.

As a poet, I know how a wide range of poets over a few hundred years have influenced my work. The whole process of developing an exhibition tends to get stuck behind a museum's doors. In the past two decades, science centers have been in the lead in the exhibits arena, and we think we have a lot to share--and learn--with other museums.
