There is a day or two lag for it shows up in search. Worst thing you can do with a page is dump an RSS feed into the Page - won't be as successful. When you start to write in the "write something" you get options to add links, photos, videos - post things that are beyond promotion content. Doesn't control the search.

You had to say something on the blog, or post a photo on Flickr, or organize a Meetup. Technorati (the first blog search engine at that time).
