Flickr Photo: Paraflyer. So, on my way back to the hotel -- with a burrito and a Coke (Diet, of course) -- I slowed down long enough to examine their logo for clues. I was in DC last week with the famous Anna Richter getting our 11NTC ducks in a row. Or to the Chipotle; I may have set a record for burritos consumed in one trip.).

I, of course, loved the flickr competition idea and suggested that she consider a modest outcome and learning experiment. Read the TechSoup article " How Nonprofits Can Get the Most Out of Flickr " 2. Come up with a list of questions of what she needs to know or learn about to design a contest that will be successful.

Flickr Photo by Sugarpond. The title of this blog post is of course a wildly inaccurate claim. Since this was an experiment to test social networking, I did not send an appeal to friends and family in the way people do when they raise funds for a run or walk, or want you to vote for a particular contest. Here is what he learned.

Since I'm a visual person, I also use flickr as a documentation tool - I do a lot of screen shots with snagit and annotate. The next iteration of a photo contest, LOL Seals. The first contest, they asked people to upload their photos and tag it themselves, which meant they had to create a Flickr account and know what “tagging” was.

Facebook and MySpace are of course the biggies, but you might want to consider creating a presence on a do-good social network like Change.org , Care2 , Just Cause , Razoo , WiserEarth or World of Good too. Have a Contest Everybody loves to win, and contests move quickly over the web. Flickr photo contest.
