When people talk about museum projects in Second Life and other virtual worlds, I'm often disappointed by the short-sightedness of the vision. Sadly, Robbie's goal was to use Second Life as a platform to create a 2D representation of the painting--so the 3D space of the painting is not available for visitors to explore.

We managed to get a medium quality Quicktime stream that we put into Second Life, and higher quality Flash video stream , that we made available on the web. Still later in the conference we saw numbers of about 30-60 viewers in Second Life and over 100 on the live Flash stream. But it sucks.
