Note from Beth: This post was written before the New York Times article describing a misstep with the Pepsi Charity Contest. If they don't a dollar, at least the contest has helped inspire them to dip their toes in the social media waters. Time will tell, but the contest has given us a jump start on our social media strategy.

To add to the fun, dish up awards for different categories of chili such as “best vegan”, “spiciest”, or “most offbeat”. Your nonprofit would then be responsible for promoting the event and recruiting teams.
