In this early stage, the metaverse is being envisioned and portrayed as an online reality that we humans enter and experience as avatars through a VR headset, similar to the Oasis experience in the movie Ready Player One. Those already exploring the metaverse can attend live concerts and meet with government officials.

The deeper we delve into a game, the better we understand the mechanics governing it. As gamification evolves beyond badges and avatars, nonprofits can institute game play to tell their story in a moving and convincing way. And I believe voters would be better educated if we all played American Public Media’s Budget Hero.

The particular issue that concerns Hiroshi right now is the Second Life problem, 3D avatar immersive environments. When the entities involved are public entities like governments or groups with a mandate to serve the entire population (BBC in UK, schools), the standard is higher than for an individual or a tiny business.

ve ever read a post, blog entry or article in a major publication that suggested we were pushing towards divorcing ourselves from reality and physicality, and moving entirely into these immersive virtual spaces. Six worlds, avatars, lots of chat and even then screens receiving video for. web geeks and cardboard cutout avatars.

In fact, I'll be arriving in a Jetson like transportation and my avatar will probably look a lot like Jane Jetson. . I wonder if in 2020, whether nonprofit boards/governance will be totally transparent? How can we support innovation, invention, and adoption of transformative technology for the public good?
