We also have more than 60 partner NGOs who bring our product donations to other countries. We love to use the donated and discounted products from our generous donor partners.

Tablet computers: So maybe your iPad isn't a replacement for your desktop or laptop, but the Surface Pro is getting awfully close. These laptops are priced between $200 and $500. That trend will continue.

Word, Excel, and PowerPoint can be replaced by a free Google Apps for Education account. Surely you still need your "real" laptop to run your donated copy of Adobe Creative Suite , right? In January, Kevin reviewed the Cr-48 laptop , a Chromebook prototype. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Always Online?

The donated Dell smartphones normally use AT&T or T-Mobile pay-as-you-go or contract plans, but they can function without it because they are Wi-Fi-capable. TechSoup's Ale Bezdikian went out and conducted a video interview last spring using one of the donated Dell phones. No problem.
