A cancer survivor and their network of loved ones want to come together and do something meaningful and they often turn to a national organization.

For this fundraising event, you’ll need to team up with a local paint and sip store like Pinot’s Palette or Painting with a Twist that’s willing to paint it forward with a percentage of the night’s proceeds going to your cause. This can be anything from a gift certificate, branded swag, or just bragging rights. Trivia Night.

For those involved with nonprofit resource development, there has been an obvious redirection of financial gifting to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) - especially BIPOC-run and BIPOC-serving agencies. Associated costs need to be accounted for in planning. Leaders and managers need to keep this in mind.

Unlike Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF on Halloween or the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots at Christmas, there is not a ubiquitous association of Mother’s Day to any particular cause or organization. Work with local wineries or shops to have wine and refreshments donated for your event, then charge by the tasting. Sip Sip, Rosé!
