I eagerly read about a new social psychology research study in which whites, Asians, and Latinos engaged in a simple collaborative activity--making a music video together. I wanted to know more.

They catered to different audiences. Both institutions made good use of their very different spaces. We took a break from the galleries, had a drink, and listened to the music as we chatted about our experience. When we say we want our museum to be "audience-centered," what do we mean? Side Trip is an immersive environment full of interactive experiences that let visitors share their own stories of the 1960s, make their own rock posters, and explore the music and vibe of the time. The primary interactive activity is one in which visitors can make their own rock posters. It is an incredible museum experience.

This seems a little ungenerous to museums; while institutions may bestow more love upon wealthy, elderly donors than the general visiting public, museums have actively courted mass audiences for years. There were thousands of people in the park for plays, free music, and beautiful scenery. And none of the museums in the park was open.
