These policy changes will impact what email Google and Yahoo will accept and deliver to their users’ inboxes, in an effort to decrease spam and spoofing.

A new survey of 38 top nonprofits by Care2 reveals that many of these well known organizations are essentially flunking “Email Marketing 101.&# Perhaps the most damning statistic is that, on average, nonprofits are taking eight whole days to email a response to someone who signs up for their email list.

Set up an email account: Most nonprofits use Gmail, which is fine. You can easily set up a Gmail account with your organization’s name @gmail.com. A better way to plan for the future is to set up an account—You can still use Gmail— with your firstname(at)organizationname(dot)org.
