We have 325 social media sites that we post to regularly, but in addition to all of the ones that everyone knows about, two of the most effective are Posterous and TrafficGeyser because we can post once to these accounts and they syndicate out to hundreds of article, podcast, blog, video and photo sites at once. The site currently has 1.6

I've also created lists of environmental and other nonprofits using blogs, podcasts, videos, Flickr and MySpace along with some resources to create your own blog, podcast or video. Beth Kanter raises $50,000 for the Sharing Foundation using a Network for Good Badge and similar tools to the ChipIn campaign, in three weeks.

Basically, a couple months before your book's release you contact bloggers, podcasters and vloggers whose audiences are a good fit for your book and ask them if they would like to interview you, review your book, have you guest post, or host an interactive event with you using a service like Gabbly. Does your organization have a podcast or radio show for promotion? Same for any prizes, contests, sweepstakes, drawings, or competitions (essay contests, spelling bees, etc. Offer access to a lounge before or after events with seating, beverages, and networking opportunities.
