The Rockaways, in the borough of Queens, was one of the hardest hit areas during Hurricane Sandy. When Laurence Copel moved to New Orleans in 2010, the city was still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

Kids Against Hunger packages and ships highly nutritious, life-saving meals to starving and malnourished children in developing countries and the United States. They do this by mobilizing children, teens, and adults volunteers who, package the meals. The result was the creation of the nutrition food pictured above.
