Unless you study Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. 1) Your avatar is cropped, shrunk, blurry, or too small to make an impact. Your nonprofit’s avatar is the brand identity upon which your social media campaigns are built and resources should be allocated to ensure that it’s visually compelling and memorable. Google, etc.

In the weeks leading up #GivingTuesday, email your ambassadors and ask them to update their social media profiles. If you have a large following on Twitter, host a tweetchat.

I haven’t been this hooked on a new social networking site since I first got on Twitter in June 2008, and based on recent data released by comScore and Hitwise, Pinterest traffic is soaring. That said, my Pinterest Profile for “Nonprofit Organizations” ( pinterest.com/nonprofitorgs ) will only follow nonprofits.
