We crushed that goal and raised $4,540 because of your generosity in donating and calling attention to the birthday wish. I met Spencer Brodsky last December when he was doing a fundraiser campaign for his project in Rwanda. That means 454 youngsters will be able to attend school in Cambodia and hopefully, fine, a route out of poverty.

The winner will go on an international reporting trip with him to focus attention on the problems of global poverty, and its solutions. Past winners traveled to Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Rwanda, and Congo. Possible destinations this year are Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Liberia and/or Ghana.

I'm thinking about the personal approach the Jen Lemen used to raised for her mission to Rwanda - and she did it in record time -- that is the result of relationship building. Pay attention. Then, when you've earned the right to attention and respect, months and months later, sure, ask. Contact them about them, not about you.
