One way to get people to create content for you is through contests. A common form of contest among companies is the “create a commercial&# contest. Among organizations, contests may seem like a short-cut to get compelling content, and cheaply. The current Heinz contest is a great example.

And they have done it using $25 and $50 donors. They have raised lots of money from those small donors. For the Obama campaign to get to $117,300 from $25 donors mean they have 4692 people donating instead of only 51. The Obama campaign says they have more than 350,000 donors this year so far. 350,000 donors!

The organization is also creating DVD’s of some of the videos to send to prospective donors. Instead of simply telling potential donors about the organization’s overseas outreach work, it can show them the people it helps and allow them to hear volunteers and those they help in their own words.
