I had the opportunity to participate in the launch of the new Kansas City Digital Inclusion Fund. So why is Kansas City investing more money on digital inclusion? One element is an infrastructure project installing fiber optical cabling to homes, schools and businesses and gigabit (ultra-fast) Internet, sponsored by Google.

Because of good weather on most weekends, minimal injury setbacks, and a lot of races to select from in the Kansas City area each weekend, I reached my goal in October of that year. Also last year,, my then 49-year-old sister-in-law set a goal to run her first-ever 10K race. Plan for more than just willpower.

Because of good weather on most weekends, minimal injury setbacks, and a lot of races to select from in the Kansas City area each weekend, I reached my goal last Saturday, and now with two months left in the year will surpass my goal. A few months ago, my sister-in-law set a goal to run her first-ever 10K race.

You wouldn’t think that would be such a big deal in the working world, but speaking from experience, employers and businesses tend to shy away from hiring people with disabilities. A few years ago, I was called in for an interview, and when I arrived, the building the business was in had several steps to the front door and no ramp in sight.
