So, the irony of when I won $500 shopping spree from Bill Me Later at the BlogHer Conference in Boston. Some dreams include gifts to charities, others are don't. Although I not a big shopper, it is convenient not to have to use a credit card. But, what would I buy? Well, had to to support NetChick because I met her Gnomedex.

She her day job is to blog and she does a terrific job at NetSquared and BlogHer. I was concerned at one point that the donations I'd received from these sorts of campaigns might be "transactional" - in that new donors to my charity would only contribute once and that was that.

As I was doing some research on cultivating women donors, I came across this useful data by BlogHer: According to their survey, 41% of women used Facebook to contribute to a community, 33% used Twitter, 32% used Pinterest, and 28% used blogs. 32% of women compared to 25% of men.
