There are many artistic projects that offer a template for participation, whether a printed play, an orchestral score, or a visual artwork that involves an instructional set (from community murals to Sol LeWitt).

One Million Giraffes is pretty much what it sounds like--a project to collect artistic renderings of one million giraffes. I can't wait until there's a young Ola somewhere else in the world starting a project of this kind in a cultural institution with the tagline, "let's show everyone how amazing museums are.".

I asked Shelley if she received any negative feedback from the artists about their work being treated like data rather than art.
