It has already surpassed Candy Crush as the biggest mobile game in US History (Mac Rumors). People are so engrossed in the game that they are watching their phone as opposed to their surroundings, and placing themselves in serious jeopardy; all for the reward of “catching ‘em all” before their friends.

I taught a very brief workshop in strategic social media using the social media strategy game. The game has a strong communications lens. I learned a lot about how to begin to adapt the game process for people with a program orientation. All of the instruction is aligned to a network frame. .

It’s still in the realm of custom content development – not something you can assign to your staff instructional designers – but it’s cheaper to do. That list of uses is apt: xAPI is the tool organizations should be using to study the efficacy, engagement, and value of online education. Both are on the slope of enlightenment.
