A local TV station employee was hired to work with the teens in a 6-week course where they created a promotional video for the library. The teens also have access to GoPro and Nikon.

Analisa Xavier implemented Native American Connections ' first ever teen after-school programs. Michael Soto traveled to every corner of Arizona to facilitate a comprehensive arts education program he designed.

The people were of all ages--moms with babies strapped to their fronts, six year-olds using skillsaws, pre-teens building robots, teenagers doing homework. Over 30% of our staff statewide are either former Workshop students or parent volunteers. There was a spirit of conviviality and purpose and helpfulness and Spanglish in the air.

Guards staring at black teens and grumbling about their clothes. In the summer, they spend 8 weeks working full-time at the Taylor Center learning and facilitating public programs. What started with 15 students in 1997 has grown to support 200 students per year. YES students defy expectations.
