So I want to share an example I love sharing with my students. . I did a post recently about celebrating your accomplishments, right, because this is something people have a hard time doing. The idea of getting into the habit of celebrating success more often and, yeah, like, replicating success for sure. It was so much fun.

Participants included museum professionals, academics, students, and a few folks from related fields (community centers, arts management). Copy editors tended to be younger and included several students. People who copy edited had a very clear job to do, and I did not allow people to copy edit more than one chapter per week.

Betty and 6 tenth grade students co-founded the Girl Child Network. GCN is a girl's rights organization which has 350 chapters of 20,000 primary and high school members across the country. She also captured women's photos and stories in Celebrating Women, and In Her Hands: Craftswomen Changing the World.

A high school English teacher in Zimbabwe, whose name is Betty Makoni , began hearing stories from her students after school, that they had been raped. Betty and six of her high school English students founded an organization called the Girl Child Network. Celebrating Women was book number two. PG: My website!
