A Boston University student told Input that photo dumps are a “personal scrapbook,” saying, “posting what I want takes stress and pressure out of posting on social media.” It’s entertaining and “unhinged” —you don’t know what that silly green bird is going to do next. Sure, it’s a curated post, but it’s meant to look low-effort.
