It encourages process-driven performances and art projects. It takes the kind of risks that a university art gallery should take.

Community First Program Design At the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History , we've gravitated towards a "community first" program planning model. Once we've identified assets and needs, we seek out collaborators and project ideas. We never start with the project idea and parachute in. That's a more complicated question.

Performances just for teens. I've started realizing that at First Fridays, when our museum swells with people out on the town for an art experience. And so I'm letting go of the idea that we have to be exclusionary to attract young people and looking for more diverse alternatives. Late night mixers at museums for young adults.
