In this way, Click is a powerful example of the "venue as content platform" definition of 2.0. We are just providing the container, the mechanism so it can function. They kept the interface simple.

They demonstrate that the blog is a more participatory vehicle than other kinds of media. I have to feel like the post is open enough to my experience, that the blogger and the community of that blog would find my voice worthwhile, that I have some strong reaction I want to share, that I won't sound stupid. it gets me excited.

To some people, these events may sound like losers. Several libraries have started to offer gaming nights where you can drink soda and play Wii to your heart's content. The key to these benefits is not the volume of online content produced but its reach. They don't generate rental revenue (usually). I don't think so.

But the content was so remarkable that visitors felt the need to just to consume it but to point it out to others. Throw in the real-time nature of a museum visit, visitors' reticence to participate socially in the museum, and archaic data systems, and this may sound downright impossible.

You can explore the project wiki where we coordinated the exhibit, including the project overview , our six-week plan to get it all done, and individual sections for development of concept , content , interaction , graphics , marketing , fabrication , installation , and evaluation. But the exhibit team did something novel.

I don't know if that was their original plan or a reaction to our poor use of the wiki, but it certainly didn't reflect our supposed digital chops. The participatory "ask" is high--to create original content. Wikis don't explicitly acknowledge individuals with "profile power"--content is prioritized, not identity.

The NAS publishes one such report every business day, and apparently these reports are seen as a gold standard of objective, well-researched content on a range of industries and issues. Libraries are more customer-focused, museums, more content-focused. Museums provide the information that we deem useful or interesting.
