When Excel (or Google Docs) sees just numbers in a field, it assumes you want the field to be a number. But if you want to bring that spreadsheet to Google Docs, all that goes out the window because there's no special setting in Google for zip codes. Leave a comment »

After playing with all the options, I ultimately decided to export the files to HTML, upload online via FTP and serve in a Salesforce custom web tab aptly named "How Do I?" Update from comments: ScreenSteps Standard is only $40 and will let you export HTML, PDF, clipboard and upload to WordPress, TypePad, Movable Type and Joomla.

For Google Apps administrators, the offerings in the Google Apps Marketplace seems to be a lot of 3rd party tools that pull in gApps data (Docs, Calendar, etc.) Leave a comment » to make it easier to work within the 3rd party tool's own environment. they stare blankly. Transfer document ownership from one user to another.

Too bad it’s so hard to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files on them – or is it? All of them view office documents including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files on various types of smartphones, but to varying degrees of effectiveness. You can view and edit Word and Excel files but just view PowerPoint files.
