Back in January for the LASA Conference, I did a session with David Wilcox on Social Media that include an introduction and the social media game. A number of o ther folks have remixed the game -- and it's been translated into different languages too. We used the game in Cali, Columbia at CIAT, an agricultural research station.

PowerMyLearning is a new, free online resource that has educational games, videos, and other activities for elementary, middle-school, and high school-aged students. I have to say that this turned out to be a pretty time consuming piece to write because the games are pretty fun and surprisingly high quality. How It Works.

People are so engrossed in the game that they are watching their phone as opposed to their surroundings, and placing themselves in serious jeopardy; all for the reward of “catching ‘em all” before their friends.

Built-in course authoring tools are a good way to accomplish this, not to say they should replace your current course authoring.
