Generation Y – Reinventing the Way We Communicate


Those of us born between 1980 to 1995 are commonly referred to as Generation-Y. To be honest, I think the name N-Gen (Net Generation) is more befitting. We are certainly addicted to the internet; we grew up with it, so it comes naturally to us.

National Safe Place is an incredible organization that connects teens in trouble with convenient places they can get help in an emergency – schools, fire stations, libraries, and other friendly locales where they can be safe if they’re threatened. For years, their TXT4HELP program let teens text in to find the closest safe place near them. They just texted “help” and their address to 69866, and were immediately returned the nearest place.
