In the era of social media, LinkedIn Groups have been one of the most underutilized and overlooked tools available to nonprofits. Use a Horizontal Avatar. LinkedIn Groups are the only community discussed in this book that uses a rectangular avatar instead of a square one. Require Approval to Join. Enable Promotions and Jobs.

As an iPhone user, I personally would love to download the Apps of my favorite nonprofits and have their avatars displayed on my iPhone. You can cancel your App hosting at any time, but if Sweb Apps comes out with new buttons and tools in the future, upgrades will not be discounted. That’s something to keep in mind.

" Sometimes I pop out of my RSS reader to leave a drive-by IM message on his meebo client just to be annoying. He uses a red haired avatar , so that has been my mental image of him. Yes, but I hate to think of my blog as a professional development tool although I understand it can be one.

They are using RSS to stream content, including resources tagged with NpTech tag in del.icio.us. Michelle Martin writes about her experience as a non-technical programmer creating mashups with some new user-friendly tools. It's always nice to discover redesigned nonprofit web sites with a web2.0 functionality. or more like web 1.0?)
