We all work hard to present ourselves online the way we want to be seen, either for our job/professional careers or to keep a line between personal life and work. Only knowing someone by their avatar or their username may make it difficult to share stories and ask hard questions, online. So, make friends!

While at first it may feel a little narcissistic, it is a clever and moving exhibition of your Facebook life – and one of the few Facebook apps I have recommended that anyone add on Facebook. Your supporters also want to see what your staff and working space look like – the human beings behind the avatar, if you will. I make sure that music on Pandora is on the agenda for at least half the day. We might just discover that sometimes social networking communities simply go dormant and can brought back to life.

The exhibition I'm curating for The Tech Museum of Innovation is opening and we are hosting a summit on June 4 (in real life and in Second Life ) for museum professionals to discuss the process by which it was created. Did we breathe life into their aspirations? Did we change too much? Did we honor their intentions?

The online platform has two parts: a website , where all projects originate, and a Second Life presence ("The Tech" in Second Life), where participants can communicate in real-time, share ideas, and build virtual prototypes. To be eligible for the prize, your exhibit must be on the theme of "Art, Film, Music & Technology."

When you enter, you start the visit by "logging in" at a kiosk that records your name, your voice, your photo, and your favorite color and music genre. Some allow you to write your life story. At the Brooklyn Museum, you are invited to pick a digital avatar (image) from their collection to represent you.
