To say this is a highly anticipated, monumental report would be an understatement. The annual report informs how organizations measure impact relative to their peers.

In January of last year I wrote up a quick summary on how some of our clients' end-of-year fundraising campaigns did vs. the prior year, and I thought it’d be nice to repeat the exercise to see how nonprofits fared in 2011. Compared to last year’s report, this is the one downward trend.

I’d be curious to see a benchmarking study on nonprofits on this topic that looks at how nonprofits apply measurement techniques and tools to improve their programs and demonstrate impact, including social media measurement. Does data collection from time-to-time, but not formal reporting. Does not know where to start.

In July 2015, two of the earliest SIBs in the US reported markedly different results from which a nonprofit manager can learn. The Rikers Island State Prison SIB, which had a goal of reducing recidivism among youths detained, reported after two years that it would cease operations after failing to meet benchmarks.
